Know What Needs Attention
Before You Plan Growth

Evidence. Priorities. Ownership. A clear starting point for stronger business performance.

More sales do not always mean a stronger business. Cash can remain blocked in stock and collections. Customer commitments can depend on repeated follow-up. Teams can work hard while decisions keep returning to the owner.

HRBCG’s Business Health Check examines how your business actually performs across its commercial, financial, operational and people systems. It provides a starting point for deciding what to fix, what to strengthen and what to measure.

Based in Hyderabad, HRBCG works with established retail, manufacturing, distribution and trading businesses. The assessment scope is agreed around your business model, priorities and available records.

Discuss Your Business Health Check

Do Any of These Challenges Sound Familiar?

  • Sales targets are set, but achievement remains unpredictable.
  • Revenue grows while margins or net profit weaken.
  • Inventory and receivables absorb cash needed for daily operations.
  • Customer commitments are affected by delays or poor coordination.
  • Rework, wastage and avoidable expenses reduce the result.
  • Reports arrive without a clear explanation of the performance gap.
  • Roles exist, but ownership of results remains unclear.
  • Reviews repeat the same issues without evidence of closure.
  • Managers need repeated follow-up to complete agreed actions.
  • The owner remains the main point of coordination and decision-making.

The purpose is to establish which concerns are supported by evidence, what causes them and which actions deserve priority.

What We Examine

Financial Performance

Where do margins change? What drives expenses? How do inventory, receivables and payables affect cash?

Sales and Customer Performance

How do targets, enquiries, conversion, repeat business and customer commitments translate into revenue?

Product, Supply Chain and Resources

Which categories contribute? Where is stock ageing? How do procurement, availability and capacity affect performance?

Process and Operational Performance

Where do hand-offs, delays, rework, quality gaps and missing controls interrupt delivery?

People and Leadership Performance

Are role outcomes, authority, KPIs, capability and accountability clear?

Governance and Performance Automation

Do dashboards trigger decisions? Are actions closed and their impact verified? Which stable processes are ready for automation?

The measures vary by sector. Retail may require store and category performance, bill value and stock ageing. Manufacturing may require plan versus actual, stage delays, quality and dispatch reliability. Distribution may require availability, customer contribution, collection ageing and order fulfilment.

How the Assessment Works

  1. Agree the business priorities, scope and available records.
  2. Validate the baseline and identify missing or inconsistent data.
  3. Compare targets with actual results and examine the causes of material gaps.
  4. Discuss operational realities with the relevant people.
  5. Prioritise findings and agree the next implementation steps.

Where comparable records exist, year-on-year analysis helps distinguish recurring patterns from current changes. Missing information is identified explicitly rather than treated as zero performance.

What You Receive

The agreed assessment produces a baseline of the measures examined, evidence of significant gaps, a prioritised action list and a proposed implementation roadmap. Each priority should identify the expected result, responsible role, timeline and verification measure. The final deliverables depend on the scope and data agreed at the start.

Business and People Performance Work Together

Business Performance Architecture connects revenue growth, margin protection, cost and loss control, and net profit growth. People Performance Architecture connects business priorities to clear roles, manager capability, measurable accountability and leadership continuity.

Questions Before You Begin

What information should we prepare?

Start with the records relevant to the agreed scope: sales and returns, purchases, profit and loss, expense breakups, receivable and payable ageing, inventory and ageing, customer or enquiry records, operating plans, organisation structure and current review reports. HRBCG will identify the priority records before the assessment.

Can we begin if our reporting is incomplete?

Yes. The first step is to identify what is reliable, what is missing and what minimum reporting is needed. Findings are qualified where evidence is incomplete.

Is this only an HR review?

The Business Health Check connects financial, commercial, operational and people performance. A people-focused assessment can be scoped separately when that is the priority.

What determines the duration and fee?

The number of locations, operating complexity, assessment scope and data readiness determine the engagement. These are discussed before work begins.
